Autumn leaves in Kyoto

December 11th, 2013 by Vincent Penez

To enjoy Autumn colors, Kyoto is one of the best place in Japan plus, it’s not far from my house. On November 23rd, a National Holiday I went around the city. As you can guess it was crowded, but because I arrived early, around 08:00 am it wasn’t so bad. Here are some pictures I took;

The Pagoda beside the Kiyomizudera; I was lucky to have such a blue sky ! It’s not everyday like this !

The Kiyomizudera. You cannot see it on this photo but one building is under renovation. Though it doesn’t look so good, it’s interesting to see some of the techniques used to build Japanese temples.

The Ryoanji temple and its zen garden; Between the Kinkakujin temple and Arashiyama. This is probably the most traditional stone garden in Kyoto.
