The Ryokan is wonderful and was one of the largest rooms in which we stayed during our trip, the price is worth it, has all the amenities you need, and the onsen was fabulous, really worth staying here.

great location and helpful staff. Too bad that there are only smoking rooms for non-smokers like us Dinner was good but breakfast was really average Atmosphere was average overall (too impersonal for me). The hotel would benefit from refreshing

Close to ferry point and by the sea front. Nice veranda with a view of the Torii . Stayed two nights so we had time to explore Miyajima. The futon beds were very comfortable and we had no trouble sleeping. However the bath towels provided were extremely thin and we had to request for extra. Thankfully the new ones were slightly thicker. Lack of power outlets for charging mobile devices and the one I did find was located near the floor (I guess it’s because it’s a Japanese style room) Great fun in choosing our yukatas (a whole rack of them in the lobby in different sizes and colours) that can be worn in the hotel premises or even outside if you so wish. Marvelous kaiseki dinners made even more enjoyable by Mayumi who patiently explained each dish as it was served. Generally the English spoken by the staff is limited/ passable but they try their best to be helpful We were we lucky to have Mayumi serving us at dinner time (or maybe she was deliberately assigned to us because of her proficiency in English). Breakfast is either Japanese style or Western and personally I would have taken Western – only because dinner is already a Japanese meal and for me it was a case of too much of a good thing having another Japanese (albeit excellent) meal for breakfast. The other reason is that the Japanese breakfast is taken in true Japanese style – i.e sitting on tatami mats. My wife would disagree with me as she was very happy having Japanese breakfast on both mornings. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. And finally, thanks to the guys/gals of Japanese Guest Houses for the help in making the reservation. Cheers
