The staff at Yamatoya Honten are very courteous, and they go out of their way to make guests feel comfortable and at home. There are 39 Japanese-style rooms at Yamatoya Honten and each room has its own private bath and toilet. There are also shared indoor baths for both women and men, open from 15:00 to 1:00 am and from 6:00 to 9:00. Check-in time is after 15:00 and check-out time is before 10:00 am.

  Room was very nice, dinner was great and breakfast was good! Staff was very nice and always available! Location is really near Dotonbori which is very good! It was totally worth it!

  I was extremely disappointed with this ryokan. For me it wasn't even really a ryokan, just a hotel where you sleep on mattresses on the floor. The room was small, in bad condition (ripped paper blinds, walls that had been affected by damp), a light-bulb did not work, and there was a surprising lack of electric sockets. The rooms were badly insulated as we could hear everything happening on the landing. The staff were friendly but insisted on making up our room when we were actually in it! I did not find this professional at all. It was extremely expensive for what it was, which is basically a Premier Inn masquerading as a ryokan. I will not return there and I do not believe it is up to the standard to be on this website. (I did not try the food so cannot comment on it.) Good location though.

  Yamatoya Honten is a superbly locates ryokan in the middle of the busy area of Osaka. For first timers in Osaka, this is truly a great location, conveniently reachable from the train and metro stations. the ryokan itself is large, and surprisingly quite given the proximity of Dotombori area. The communal bath is definitely large and functional. The hotel could do with a bit more air circulation at times of breakfast, but that said, it is clean and exactly what we were looking for.

  La ubicación es excelente. El personal super simpático. Nosotros viajamos con un niño de dos años y caminando desde el Ryokan conseguimos todo lo que estabamos buscando: comida para bebé y para nosotros, parques y diversión. Las habitaciones cómodas y super limpias. El "furo"/baño público muy relajante. Quizás esto es lo mejor del Ryokan!!
