Hot springs have a very long history in Japan, and they are an intimate part of Japanese culture. There are over 3,000 "onsen" ,or hot springs, in Japan. Many can be found at the ryokans available on Japanese Guest Houses.
At JR Nagano train station, take the train on the Nagano Dentetsu Rail Line bound for Yudanaka train station. From Yudanaka train station it take 7 minutes on walk.
There is a free pick up service from Yudanaka station at 14:15, 15:13 or 16:25 (reservations are required).
