Hot springs have a very long history in Japan, and they are an intimate part of Japanese culture. There are over 3,000 "onsen" ,or hot springs, in Japan. Many can be found at the ryokans available on Japanese Guest Houses.
Direction: Please take a train on the Sagano Line (platform 33 and 34) from JR Kyoto Station and get off at Kameoka Station. All trains stop at Kameoka and it takes 20 to 30 minutes. You must call Fukiko once you know which train you will take. She will be waiting for you at the station and will take you to her home.
