Hot springs have a very long history in Japan, and they are an intimate part of Japanese culture. There are over 3,000 "onsen" ,or hot springs, in Japan. Many can be found at the ryokans available on Japanese Guest Houses.
Hanaikada offers a free pick-up service from JR Saga-Arashiyama Station to the hotel until 6 p.m. Please call them upon your arrival at JR Saga-Arashiyama Station. If you prefer to walk, it’s a 15 minute walk from the JR Saga-Arashiyama Station to Hanaikada. If you come by the Hankyu Railway it’s a 6 minute walk from Hankyu Arashiyama Station to Hanaikada.
