From JR Shinjuku station in Tokyo: Take the JR Tokkyu Azusa to JR Matsumoto train station (2 hours and 30 minutes). From JR Matsumoto train station take the Matsumoto Dentetsu line to Shin-Shimajima train station. (30 minutes). The last bus start from Shin-Shimajima train station to Kamikochi (get off at the Kamikochi Teikoku Hotel Mae bus stop) is 16:45 (75 minutes). From the bus stop it is a 7 minute walk to the hotel.
