Outstanding place to stay in a beautiful small town - there are quite a few tourist shops but the whole town was very quiet when we were there. The nearby temple complex is well worth a visit - tranquil, serene. The two sister hosts at Meigetsu are lovely and the food - oh the food - is truly, truly wonderful.

The Meigetsu ryokan is beautiful with much character. The rooms are comfortable and reasonably large. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food (breakfast and dinner) is superb. Tsuwano is not a big city, but the location of the ryokan could not be better, close ro the station, cloase to the main site, and quiet.
